"I was really proud how much effort we all put into making it a brilliant show" Youth Theatre member 2006 The Three Musketeers
|
Forest Forge Youth Theatre has been running for nearly 10 years, and aims to create an exciting, engaging, safe and creative space for young people aged between 6 and 21. We have 5 groups and each has the opportunity to perform to the public at our base or in street theatre performances or carnival arts.
Production includes: Metamorphoses, Mish Mash Tales from the Forest Forge Bag, The Three Musketeers, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Silver Sword, A Passion Play and Marat/Sade
Our regular weekly sessions focus on improvisation, storytelling, character, devising and physical theatre.
We also offer the opportunity to learn from our professional staff and young people are involved backstage with lighting and sound, costumes, or as front of house staff.
This year Forest Forge will be attending The National Association of Youth Theatre's annual gathering for young people - The Big Youth Theatre Festival, a four day event for youth theatres across the country to showcase their work, learn from one another, and have a giant party!
From our attendance last year one of our members has been invited to be a member of the Youth Council for Arts Council England's Youth Peoples Participatory Theatre Programme.
